Texas's Treasures
I flew down to Houston to visit my wonderful cousins (see below) and romp around with all my pseudo-neices and nephews.
They are quite the crew and I had a blast being Auntie Charity for the weekend!
Of course, what is more fun than dress up?
At one point I said to Esther, "Oh look! You're a beautiful princess!"
"I'm just pretending," she sniffed, correcting my grievious error.
"Oh," I replied, not knowing quite what to say. "Well, I still think you're pretty cool." That got the smile I was looking for.
Zach wore high-heels until Dad informed him that they were, in fact, girl shoes. He seemed unconcerned.
Caleb just said, "Ball," which translates as: down, go, up, what's that? I pooped, you pooped, dog, where's my ball? hold me, watch out, and ball. He also said, "Dink" which means drink.
So the little kids were fun, but the big kids are fun too! I know I've said this before, but cousins are like siblings - you just grow up getting spanked by different people...most of the time. This has its advantages. It's kind of like having guaranteed friends that you don't have to pay and then you get to just be yourself and they still love you.
Sometimes it's hard to explain how someone can be your sister without really being your sister. But that's just how it is, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! There is something so precious about having a network of such beautiful and loving people surrounding and supporting you through every moment of your life. I can't imagine living without my family - so much of who I am is a reflection of who they have been to me. And it's all good stuff!

M~
The old saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" just doesn't fit with your writing. The pictures are wonderful and looking at them is so fun, but the words... and perhaps more than that - the sentiment- are worth a thousand pictures. Family is so wonderful, and pseudo sisters are too. I'm so happy that you had a chance to go down to Houston and visit them.
I'm heading to MT sometime next week and should be there until the last Sunday of the month. Maybe I'll see you.
Love you, friend.
Your E~
