Anticipation
There have been several things that I thought would NEVER happen in my life. One of those things was going to St. Andrews, Scotland. I still didn't believe it even as I rode in a car, the green miles passing by slower and slower until we were taking the first right at the second roundabout just across from the St. Andrews golf course on a bright day in July. What a sobering moment to step into the center of a dream suddenly more real than my doubt.So how is it that I still think there are things that will NEVER happen?

You are not alone in thinking that some things will NEVER happen in your life. I just move from one thing to the next. I am always finding myself anticipating the NEXT thing, instead of enjoying where I am at. You have to trust that God has plans for you. Just look back to yourself five years ago. At that time, would you have imagined yourself doing the things, knowing the people, and going the places you have gone since? That anticipation thing happens to the best of us. My hope for myself is to plan for the future, but make the most of the present. bmj
