From the Top

"From the Top" is a radio show played on National Public Radio (NPR). It features young classical musicians up to 18 years of age. Each show is hosted by Chris O'Reilly, an internationally acclaimed pianist. They have never done a show in Montana...until Thursday night. The Werners sent in their audition and application materials and were accepted. They were among 5 musicians who performed at the Wilson Auditorium. Samuel and I got all dressed up and attended the concert - Samuel is sporting a suit donated to the cause by our Grandpa Jensen. He's looking pretty sharp, if I do say so myself!

The performance and interview with the host went very well. They even had a game of James Bond trivia! The other performers were just as outstanding and it was an enjoyable evening full of cultured entertainment. Afterwards, we joined all of the musicians, cast and crew, and loyal fans for a little gathering downtown. The first photo is of...Samuel ostensibly...but also of the mullet to his immediate right.

Here are the illustrious performers still sporting the outfits they wore for their encore performance at the end of the show. They played an arrangement of three rock pieces: "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, and "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. Luc played an electric cello and the girls played acoustic backup. The crowd loved it!

We're not above cutting up a bit for a good laugh!

Samuel and I were still a bit jazzed up when we got home, so we played with swords. No, I was not wearing a helmet.

The show will broadcast on December 13th. Once it has aired, anyone can stream the audio from the Yellowstone Public Radio website at any time: www.ypradio.org
Check it out for a nice time!!

Marianne, You look absolutely gorgeous in these pics. I especially like the first one... although the last one definitely shows off a little more character!
