The Werner Clan

This year I am again teaching at the Bozeman Charter School, a private school for the Werner children. Here are some pictures of good times with the family from the past couple of years.
Birthdays are always an occasion for celebration and we have enjoyed a number of outings over the years - float trip down the Yellowstone, skiing at Moonlight Basin, multiple dinners at MacKenzie River Pizza Company, badmitton, hike to Palisade Falls, and late night tea parties and/or riveting games of Clue, Spoons, Market, Cranium, Apples to Apples, and many more!

Me with Mariel and Andree after a late afternoon of skiing lessons.

Last year we (Brian and I) tried to help expand Andree's musical repetoire by giving her the finest of instruments: a kazoo. She rocked it, of course!

Helene's birthday this past May at the Werner residence. This photo includes the whole family and all the tutors for the year...minus Susan who is taking the picture. It was a lovely evening with great food and good laughs.

Last year Brian and I were able to meet up with the children, Susan and their grandmother at Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. We spent the day touring Stratford and then checking out nearby Warwick Castle. It was fun to meet with friends so far from home and enjoy the sights together.

We're not above creating our own sensations right here in the Big MT. Mariel wrote a fantastic script and we were all cast as players. Dr. Frankenstein was brought to trial in the death of his monster, Adam. (Did you know the monster himself is not named Frankenstein?) There were several other suspects and witnesses: Society, Nature, the boat captain, and the monster himself. Mariel sat as judge, Brian as prosecutor, Helene as high 19th century Society, Andree as Frankenstein, Luc as the monster, and I as Nature in all my green glory.

The Cast.

Andree did a great job of playing the part of Dr. Frankenstein, but with that costume it was hard not to laugh the entire time she was speaking!

The children are all also accomplished musicians, playing the cello and piano. This is a picture from a photo shoot they did last spring for their annual concert. It went marvelously as they performed for a sell-out crowd at Reynolds Hall on campus.
